Eyes are window to the soul and you can be acquainted with mood of your pet cat and its health by looking in its eyes.
Though cats don't have as many eye problems as dogs do, but when they have to face eye diseases it is completely chronic and may last to years, and sometimes is a lifetime problem. Healthy cat eyes are always soggy and clear. But if you find reddishness in inner eyelids of your pet cat, matter forming on the eye or in the corners of the eye, the third eyelid roams stays across the eye and excessive tears in eyes; all these symptoms indicate you that your pet cat is suffering from any eye problem.
Runny eyes, is common problem with cats eyes. Normally a runny eye is caused by a disorder of the normal anatomy. Infectious organisms such as the flu viruses cause conjunctivitis, an inflammation of the membranes lining the eyelids and this result in a discharge which is either watery or thick and a greenish yellow color.
Cats habitually scuff each other's eyes when skirmishing. If left untreated, these small corneal lacerations become big eye problems. There are some eye problems in cats that affect only one eye. Such type of problems can have serious impact on cats’ eye, so seek proper and timely treatment. In case your cat is abruptly squinting one eye in the summers, there maybe a foxtail in it. It is good if you eradicate the foxtail and if you can’t do this go for veterinarian.
