Cats are cute. They are very clever. Cats have better eyesight and senses which are matched by no other animal. Cats are perfect pets. There are numerous beliefs associated with cats. Cats were worshipped in Egypt and to kill one was conceived an offense. Black cats are symbol of bad luck in many countries but for some countries these cats are lucky.
European and European-American countries believe that black cats are very unlucky for them. Anglo-Saxons and Scandinavian people are of the view that if a black cat crosses their path they should have to turn back to their home in order to protect themselves from any critical event.
The poor unfortunate kitties have been used in rituals, and were supposedly the familiars of witches.
Anarchism has used the symbol of the black cat, as has Wicca, the modern day expression of Witchcraft. According to some new researches black coats have evolved separately many times in different species of cat signifying that dark fur has an endurance benefit. Black cats are symbols of bad luck in many cultures; in fact they may be luckier than their fairer relatives.
Some common bad fortunes linked with black cats’ are- meeting a black cat early in the morning, walking under a ladder after a black cat has walked underneath it, having a black cat turn its back on you and many more. On the other hand some people believe black cats are good for them. Generally possessing a black cat is conceived as a sign of good luck. Having a black cat meet you at a door, touching a black cat, cat’s entry to your home and meeting three black cats in succession are indications of some positive happenings.
